JSRF Tool 2.3b and mods

Hello everyone, here's a new version of the JSRF tool which allows you to copy/past add/remove data blocks within a JSRF file, you can copy and paste model parts from one file to another, that is what I did for the player model swaps I showed earlier.

Note that this version of the tool isn't finished so many models in model viewer are displayed without textures, if you need to preview models you're better off with previous versions of the tool.

For how to use the tool, see this post and also this post

Regarding the new features, its mainly the ability to, add/remove copy/paste, insert, delete blocks of data within the JSRF file container structure.

For example you can select a model or texture from and click "copy", open a different file, select a texture and click "paste" to overwrite by whatever you copied earlier.

Also, here's some mods:

 That's all for now ;)

    1. Hey, here's some player mods where I swapped the models by that of enemies which you can't normally play as.

Don't forget to clear the cache (so the game reloads the new modded files).
To do that, delete the "Media" folders in the Cxbx partitions 2 to 7, depending on what settings you chode you'll find the partitions in: "C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Cxbx-Reloaded\EmuDisk" or in the Cxbx folder and \EmuDisk\

  4. I am having trouble using the edit texture button. It is linked to my gimp but always comes up with a path error. Any ideas why? My file path is a custom one, As I made a jsrf folder with mod tools, the game and cxbx in it, but it wants to use a temp folder and stuff and says it cant find it.

Also, I was curious if you knew any way to make a free camera? I have been trying to find a way to make one but don't even know where to begin. Just wanted to explore outside the games walls n stuff.

    1. Sorry you're having this issue, I had a few people give notice of the same bug, yet after testing I wasn't able to resolve the issue unfortunately.

That said you can manually open the texture file by going in the folder "JSRF ModTool 2.3b\resources\tmp\", once you click on "edit texture" in the JSRF Tool, it will output a .bmp file with a file name made out of numbers (its a unique ID), open that bmp file in Gimp manually, edit it, save (with the same filename and location) and try clicking "Save changes" in the JSRF tool, it should re-import the edited texture.
      Hope that helps.

Regarding temp folders, if you're referring to the JSRF Tool "tmp" folder, you need to leave the JSRF Tool "resources" folder(as it came) next to the .exe for it to work properly.

No idea for a camera mode otherwise.
