Still hoping for a JSRF port to PC or so, who knows time will tell!
So since I don't really have time to dig more into the JSRF files, I found something interesting to post that didn't take much time to figure out, some lines of the character "dialogues".
These are located in the "Event"(s) game files in "Media\Event\Event\".
Now I don't have the names of the characteers assigned to the dialogue, since its defined by some number ID which i'd have to figure out which corresponds to which, but I am sure for the most part, many of you can guess which character it is.
So here's a little of it! let me know if you want to see more.
The list is quite long, so there's the rest: http://pastebin.com/xbijX8br#######################################################

This is Shibuya Terminal, the city's
biggest non-stop dance party.
Let's hit this joint and cover up
that freaky-looking graffiti!#######################################################

Yo yo yo yo, all right,
let's get this party started.
I'll be your audience,
so let's see what you got!
Uh-uh... Someone done stole
the goddess of the streets,
the statue at Dogenzaka Hill.
I bet the punks who did this are
the same ones who're spreading
all those nasty rumors!
Cover Dogenzaka Hill
in graffiti and flush out those
rumor-spreading scumbags!######################################################
That's all for now folks, let me know if you want to see more of this.
Cheers!
Hey man, awesome update! Just wanted to let you know that your tool has been super helpful in my current class project. The task is to analyze and deconstruct a game and rebuild it in the Unity engine. Of course the game I chose was JSRF. This weekend I've been working on some prototypes and I've got movement working: http://i.imgur.com/cRERm09.png I might get a friend to help me out with rigging/animation in the next couple of weeks. My goal is to have a fully functional Garage level (minus the other characters and quarter pipe functionality) by June.
ReplyDeleteYour blog is an awesome inspiration! If you would like to keep in touch you can send me a message on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/user/quitopr
Awesome! glad to know people appreciate the blog the long hours reverse engineering JSRF :)
DeleteNote that you'll have to manually fix the "stripped" models for levels, some messed up faces, inverted normals and messed uvs, but its not too hard to fix.
Do you have a blog where I can see the progress perhaps?
I am not too familiar with reddit, I didn't even know it had private messages, haha, althought I do have an account: http://www.reddit.com/user/TheBonkBoy/
Send me a message or post a comment here when you have that Unity project done.
Cheers!
Glad to see you are still around dude
ReplyDeleteLikewise!
DeleteYo dood! I'm happy you're still alive. Anything JSRF is always welcome. I'll be here until the end.
ReplyDeleteHehe, JSRF stays strong even after +10 years! :)
DeleteRad! Could you maybe post a file containing all the individual dialogue that you get when talking to the GGs in the Garage? I think it'd be cool to have something like that as a reference, since what the characters say changes depending on the point in the story and who's talking to whom.
ReplyDeleteImma do that, though I can't get the character names assigned to it.
